This modern reharmonization of the classic holiday tune made famous by Bing Crosby aims to capture the longing feeling of being away from home and family during the holidays, as well as the excitement and hopefulness of coming home.

It features solo flugelhorn (or trumpet)* over lush and moody harmonies and intertwining countermelodies.  Saxophones doubling on flutes (altos and tenors) and bass clarinet (bari) bring orchestral textures that steadily build through an improvised flugelhorn/trumpet solo and release into a swinging big band shout section, before coming back down to a gentle ballad.

*Alternate solo parts for different instruments can be arranged upon request.  Can also work as a vocal feature.
